Our Services

Specialist Surveys

OS Ecology Ltd offers a range of specialist ecological surveys, each tailored to assess and protect various species and their habitats.

These surveys include Preliminary Ecological Appraisal, and specific surveys for a diverse array of species.

Biodiversity Net Gain

Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) became mandatory in England in 2024, requiring development, with certain exemptions, to demonstrate a measurably positive impact on biodiversity.

We off a suite of services to address all requirements in relation to BNG, from assessing a site’s baseline and completing a feasibility study to inform site design to calculating the anticipated change in units on site and providing advice in relation to any off-site requirements.

Tree climbing Survey

We offer Tree Climbing Surveys, where qualified climbers perform aerial inspections to evaluate potential roosting features in trees that were identified in ground-based assessments.

Our climbers, certified in Tree Climbing and Aerial Rescue and holding Natural England Level 2 licences, use ropes, harnesses, and endoscopes for detailed inspections.

Drone Surveying

Our Aerial Habitat Assessments using in-house drone operatives are instrumental in mapping large areas of habitat and providing up-to-date aerial photography.

This service is particularly beneficial for detailed mapping of current habitats, crucial for Biodiversity Net Gain assessments.
